Sylvia Willisson

sylvia

Our Comrade, Sylvia L. Willisson was born July 8, 1943, and passed away on November 21, 2006 at the age of 63 years.  Sylvia was born in Invermere, BC and lived in the same area all her life, where she knew everyone, and everyone knew and loved her.

She joined Branch 122 in 1991 as an Associate Member, and worked hard for the Branch for all the years we were fortunate to have her.

She was Branch Treasurer for 14 years, as well as chairperson for the Finance, Membership and Honours and Awards Committees.

She worked diligently to recruit new members, and was always proud to have Initiations right away.

We always knew that if we went by the Branch at any time after 8AM, Sylvia would be there, catching up on bookwork, and welcoming friends and Comrades for coffee.
The highest point for her was the day she received her life membership, and it was truly earned.

Sylvia was in charge of cribbage every Thursday and very active in the Meat Draws on Friday and Saturday.  She also worked some Sundays on a volunteer basis.
She was well known throughout the East Kootenay Command as a hard worker and a loyal legionnaire.

We do miss her!
